Fujitsu Applies Pan European Telecommunications Strategy

Fujitsu Telecommunications Europe Limited, the leading supplier of high performance telecommunications solutions, has announced a major restructuring within its European telecommunications business. The move is designed to create a truly Pan European business base that is fully integrated with Fujitsu's global telecommunications infrastructure. Changes have been made in three key areas:

  • The appointment of Keith Gibson as Strategic Marketing Director
  • The appointment of Phil Church as European Sales Director
  • The creation of a new Corporate Planning Group under Nobukazu Nagayama
Strategic Marketing
With over 15 years' experience in the communications and computing industries, Keith Gibson's responsibilities involve focusing on developing Fujitsu's Pan European infrastructure and strategic positioning. Previously Director, Sales & Marketing, at Fujitsu Telecommunications Europe, Keith will be working closely with other companies within the Fujitsu Group to define and implement a co-ordinated Pan European strategy. Keith has also recently been elected as a director of the West Midlands regional CBI.

Sales Activity

Phil Church joins Fujitsu Telecommunications Europe as European Sales Director, with responsibility for product sales, Commercial management, and pre and post sales support. His remit will include the management of all key UK accounts, including BT - and will also lead the European sales team. With over 10 years' telecoms experience, including posts with Cellnet, STC and GPT, Phil was latterly responsible for running GPT's UK operators business - growing the turnover to over £200 million per annum.

Corporate Planning

The appointment of Nobukazu Nagayama to head up the newly-created Corporate Planning Group completes the restructuring picture. He will have responsibility for budgetary planning and control within Fujitsu Telecommunication Europe, reporting into the managing director, Shigeyuki Unagami, and will also handle direct co-ordination with the parent company, Fujitsu, Japan.

Currently employing over 1,100 staff around Europe, Fujitsu Telecommunications Europe is a strategic division of Fujitsu Telecommunications of Japan - currently one of the world's largest communications equipment suppliers.
